my 1st D.I.Y board done but need to know wat category shd i go for ???

Dear all Swaylockans ,

This is my 1st D.I.Y board , size 5’6" x 20" x 2.6/8" . Nose 16" tail 15" , tail tip to tip 12" . Butt crack deep 5.5" , wing/bump from tail stringer 14.5" . Flat bottom , nose rocker 3.5" tail rocker bout 2" .

I’m using a 8" fin box , that’s e only size i can get now . NO OTHER OPTIONS !!

Wondering what is the fin box placement from the stringer ? Can i make this into a bonzer board ? I already have a custom made twin fish from Cali , wanted to try out some other board .

Infor n suggestion will be much appreciate .

With respect ,

Andi x 1.74 tall x 68 kg .

HAVING PROBLEMS UP LOADING PIX COS EXCEEDS THE MAX ATTACHMENT SIZE OF (87.0KB) , CAN ANYONE HELP ?

hiya [Andy?] !

firstly …

because "I quite like photos " , I hope this helps with your photo question …

it’s from the forum on the discussion home page called “using swaylocks”

http://www.swaylocks.com/…;;page=unread#unread

[…in a nutshell , use photo studio5 , microsoft photo editor , or some other similar photo editing programme to reduce your photos to around 500x400 pixels or so [some here manage to post 600x480 ones , but I am not sure how…]

secondly …

fin setup/s -

setting up your board as something other than a twin keel or quad may be a bit tricky because your fish tail is SO deep [and your tail tip to tip is SO wide !]

But , if the back of your fin box is right near the apex of the fish tail [?leash loop on deck side?] , you could always cut a bit of the base away from the “back” fin , so it hangs behind the box . [ WHY did you make the "butt crack " so deep , and the tail so WIDE , is my question , if you wanted to do something other than a twin keel ??]

Or…you could always whack a single fin in the back box !

And , yes … you could even go with a coupla small runners [2 tabbed fcs, or if you get them there , lokbox boxes] , and try the bonzer3 or 5 setup …heck , why not , eh ?

[here’s my fish , with that setup …I love it as a modified [no cant , no concaves] type bonzer3 setup. It’s faaaast , but has positive hold ! ]

okay … I hope this helps , mate ?

cheers ,

photos …

thanks Andi , for sending these …

people ,

it’s a …

STINGER !! [with parallel rails , and a WIDE tail !]

I would say …try it out as a SINGLE fin , Andi …with the fin waaay forward in the box . And , leet us know how it rides eh ?

good on you , mate !

…when I read the ‘bump’ was at 14" , I pictured a double bump quad , like lokbox’s ones he’s posted previously .

But yes , it’s a flyer / wing / stinger alright !

here ya go…

this is only me , but I think the box is drswn in [=Red] in about the right place , actually ! For a deep, raky [curvy] fin .

( If you like , I could send you a 10" or a 12" finbox , if you wanted to try THAT, and didn’t mind waiting ?)

cheers mate !
