Thank you Brian for great shaping tools and great service.
That Z shaped thing is one of my favorites I use it to true up the outline after cutting with a handsaw. It will also shape the tail tuck like abFred tool. The long and short scubbers are 20 grit I believe and really help on longboards and SUPs.
Yeah, those Greenlight tools are the best. I don’t like the ‘Fred’ angle and I personally think the grit is too much on the Fred tool; you can really pull a lot of foam where you want to be a bit more delicate, IMO. YMMV.
Thanks guys! There’s a couple more tools I’ve been developing over the years we hope to roll out soon. Been busy building “other things” to shake up the industry a bit, or maybe a lot, we’ll see.
Gunkie, thanks for the feedback on the Rail Runner grit. We can certainly use a finer grit on the Fred side of the tool. If it helps surfers make better boards than we’ll certainly implement it!
Your rail runner tool works good for truing up rails but I personally thought the Fred tool side did more harm than good. Because the grit was so rough there wasn’t a sharp angle and it left a very round and not so accurate tuck. Mine was an older one and I used it on pu foam. So maybe that had something to do with it. Sadly I let someone in need borrow it and some how it magically grew legs and walked away. It did work great on outlines.
I know what you mean about the grit not leaving PU foam super clean. Not an issue with EPS.
Not sure about the “accuracy” of tuck railbands. A certain amount of foam is removed per stroke and then rounded with screen and fine tuned… everyone approaches shaping a bit differently.
If you want a new Rail Runner shoot us an email and we’ll help you out. Tell who borrowed yours they owe you a case of beer at least!
