Looks nice! Small wave tube machine?
… "small wave tube machine ? "
…I sure HOPE so !!
when I last saw it at hickster’s , it looked more greeny coloured than these last two shots depicted…probably to do with the yellow streaks I over sprayed on the blue, and the resin hitting it. The deck and the bottom ARE a slightly different colour and pattern. That’s fine with me.
Grant took a coupla shots of me glassing, as I did of him too with the ‘wood board’.
So, hopefully tomorrow when I pick up the film, if they’ve turned out okay , there may be some more shots to add to both these threads…
When I next go out there, I will need to sand the laps lightly, filler coat [‘hotcoat’] the deck and hull, then cut in the back fin box and glass on the legrope loop, depending how thick the tail ends up.
...stay tuned ...

Your lam still hasn’t set yet…

Only kidding…scared you eh…

Hi Ben,
Looks good!! What fin setup are you going to use?
So is that colour just the Holts spray cans you have mentioned previously?
Kind Regards,
Matt.
looks good Ben. When is the test drive.
Been a reasonable bank at Scabs the last couple of days, might see you down there, Thursday / Friday is looking good.

hi Matt !
My favourite..a pintail single fin !
…IF the tail’s thick enough, I’m hoping a 10-12" multifins box [oz equivalent of fins unlimited boxes].
Then, I’ll hopefully make some wood and fibreglass and solid glass , and maybe even a foam flexi
…PLENTY of different fins, from brewer to greenough - to my own " 2 secret herbs and spices specials" !
er…the cans are at the hickster’s at the moment, so…I know it was enamel spray this time… USUALLY, yes, I use the Holts Duplicolour , in an ACRYLIC…
Here’s some shots Grant took of me glassing the deck … like the Aussie gloves ??
[I’ll post the shots of him on the ‘glassing wooden board’ thread next !] . And, maybe his kids and families’ art on the ‘show us some artwork’ thread too… just give me time, to dig up those threads again.
Gray, it will be a few weeks minimum , as I have to syncronise with Grant’s family the best time to visit. Don’t just want to lob up there and kinda take over, know what I mean ?
glassing deck of 5’9 pintail : -
A blue spray , that looks more like a green tint in these photos !!!
for those wondering , the T-shirt [my favourite…the only one I wear with pride!] reads…
" never lose touch with your inner grommet " [Tunnel Vision Surfboards]

What does your wife say about the ironing board? Great idea though. I can’t even remember what I used as racks for my early boards.
hey guys …
good banks at scabs ???
insane banks down our end as well …
the cut was smoking today …
the banks were so good i wanted to take a photo…
wasnt huge , just a little over head on the sets , but not a drop of water out of place …
and only one guy out …plus us made 3…the other guy was surfed out when we got there hed already had it to himself for 3 + hours…
regards
BERT
Hey Bert hows it going.
I suppose the view of good banks on the metro beaches is all relative to how surf starved you get, the hungrier I get the better things look.
3 people out, what a score, there was crew crawling all over the place up here. I took the wooden fish out for a run, but I was probably 3 foot of board to short, with mals claiming most of what was on offer. But on the bright side, there was some shape, most got a few waves and it was just good to watch.
should be even better over the next couple of days.
cheers

Hey Bert
Are you going to be in Perth on 13/11, it’d be great to catch up with you.

…Yeah, I second that !
“contacio’s”, I reckon…there’s been some tasty rights there all week [don’t tell anyone though]
hope you can make it Bert...it'd be good to meet you, and have THREE wood boards being ridden to photograph !

hahahahehehe plonk …[ ? not surprisingly ? ] I don’t HAVE a wife !
And , IF I ever want to iron [WHY ??] , I actually do have TWO ironing boards ! [ I even have real shaping racks, too]
That’s funny, though ! (…thanks for asking , Wildy !)
