thanks to Huck for the design. And thanks to HomeDepot for the Christmas tree stand on sale for $3 the day after Christmas.

It seems there was a photo glitch. I saw something different.
Nice stand. I need to watch for sale priced Christmas tree stands next year.
What fin system are you using?
Nice work Greg.
Cool! Over time you will want to add one more brace or a plywood gusset on the notched side.
I like! Nice work
It seems there was a photo glitch.
The stand came out of my wood surfboard work about 6 years ago, and it has worked well as I have transitioned into foam boards too. It was not based on any of surfoil’s work, but I am a huge fan of his, and if its in any way comparable then I will take that as a compliment.
I stand corrected. In which case, kudos to you Huck. Very resourceful.
I suspect there is a glitch with the photos right now.
I am seeing Surffoils makeshift jigsaw rig on the driveway wall in Tate’s first post.
Yeah, thats a completely different photo than is showing up for me. I notice both Greg Tate and Surfoils use numbers to designate their photos, Greg’s photo is titled “image_129”, so its possible both photos have the same title, causing the computer to confuse them.
I was finally able to edit Greg’s post, and insert a different version of his photo (as shown below) with a new name.
Now I see a shaping stand.
Thanks Huck. I see that now. And I need to shave off the sharpe edge on that branch as well. I’ll use a plywood gusset plate.
What did you use for foam padding?
all the best
Yardsale find - I bought several of those blue foam pads for sleeping bags, and just cut it into 4" strips.
