Hello to all. This is my first attempt to build a wooden board, 7’2’’, 22’’ wide, 2.2’’ thick, 3’’ nose rocker, 2.5’’ tail rocker. Rails will be 50/50 all-plywood, no cork. Fin will be cedar-pine, 5.5’’ base 9.5’’ long. Until now I’ve built everything by hand (except for the holes in the rails)…lots of work with utility knife and hand saw. Lots to do yet, but I think I’m not that bad after all. Just wanted to share this pictures, opinions and impressions are welcome.
jstephen,
Nice work. Must have been very difficult to do entirely by hand. You might consider using a small finger plane or block plane - it would still be handmade.
Hope you decide to post it in the resource section when it is finished.
Have fun.
Patrick
very nice work!! post a picture when is finished…way to go man…
By “handmade” I mean I didn’t use any electric tool. I did use different kinds of saws, knives and anything that cuts 1/8" plywood nice and easy. For the rail shapping I’m planning to use a belt sander. But until now, nothing with cords and plugs. Jack.
