What a great opportunity for work! I’d jump at it (I can do all facets) but unfortunately I’m too far north (SB). Hope you get the people you need. Anybody applying for the shaping needs very sharp tools and should have a great mask (balsa swells up if it gets in your lungs)…
Yeah, sounds like a great opportunity to bad I live in Hawaii or I’d love to help you out. I do know a few guys out of El Segundo that I worked with last year on the “Blank” surfboard show at the Pegge Hoper gallery. They do some really top notch work, I only know of a couple other people that can even come close to their type of quality. If you want the best give them a call, here’s there number maybe they can help you out:

Hey, great…someone else finally replied…doesn"t anyone wanna work anymore? Make money doing what ya love. Passion?
These guys have ALL THIS WORK…where is everyone?
Hey Mike I would definately be interested. I am 18 years old have been shaping for the past 2 and a half years, and in recent months I have been working for free learning under Jon Wegener of hermosa beach, and and more currently Bruce Jones, and he has really been great and let me do some finish sanding. I have also just started working at Clearwater Glassing in newport beach. I know your probably looking for someone with alot of experiance seeing as there balsa wood boards ($), but If you have no luck and want to check out what I can do please contact me, I am very passionate about making surfboards.
thank you
I think there is still some work for you over there. As you know Wyland is pretty big in Hawaii. Do you have a factory? I will be on Oahu July 3, thru July 10 Visiting Family and pushing both our Epoxy surfboards under the Blue Water Label (mostly battail quads) and the Wyland BalsaCollectables. Mabey we should talk and work somthing out.
Mike
