Dear surfer ,

I’m trying to custom made a surfboard , these are the dimentions >>>

Lenght : 5’10"

Weith : 18.3/4"

Thickness : 2"3/8.

Nose : 12.5"

Tail: 16.0"

Which is the more “forgiving tail” i should use ? Is thump tail good ?

I’m imaging that this is a small wave shape just from looking at the dimentions. I would say you should go with a swallow or fish maybe add a wing. I rode a board that was about the same size . The tail outline was a pin tail turned into a square tail and that board was one of the best boards I’ve ever rode. Just a thought. Good Luck!

Looks like youve already made up your mind about your “custom”.

Custom boards are better design around the following basic elements:

  1. ShortB vs LongB vs Hybrid

  2. The types of waves/conditions you are most likely to ride

  3. Your ability/style/weight

  4. paddling/catching vs riding performance

When you accurately define these elements you are better prepared to move to the next step…shape and dimensions and others.
