Greg had previously emailed me a nice rundown on everything I needed to know about using his epoxy (before my computer crashed), and I’ve seen it posted on here before, but I can’t find it in the archives, and I’m about to lam!
Can anyone post that up for me, if they have it handy?
THanks a bunch!
Or if you know offhand, what % of additive F do you use for the lam?
So, first lam on with the RR epoxy, and I gotta say, this stuff is sweeeet to work with. I’ve never been that calm while doing a lam, probably because I’ve never had that much time to do one. Didn’t even break a sweat! I mixed up 18 oz for a single 6oz bottom lam on a 6’8", and I probably only used about 12 or 14 oz of that. I’ll have to adjust my usual lamming schedule, since I’m using the slow hardener and it takes a while to set up, but I’m pretty happy so far.
Use UV polyester, it’s cheaper… and only after you have it all laid out nicely, run 'er out into full sun. Before you can get a sandwich and a beer, it’s time to do the other side.
Poly may be cheaper if you drip a major curtain of epoxy on the floor while laminating, as they do with poly. Epoxy is way cheaper if you use the amount Loehr says.
