New Alaia project!

My names Rob, & I'm a swayaholic, but it's been 45 weeks 3 days since my last post...

G'day all!

I'm heading up to Crescent head and Noosa in queensland AUS next april and will be taking my HWS with me but also want to add an alaia to my travelling quiver too.

I will be sourcing some paulonia from Tom W hopefully when I am up his way in january and will then build this baby back here in sydney before my road trip.

I have been watching Oldys promo for Tom and have decided on an alaia to ride prone, any pointers or ideas on planshapes/lengths/rockers/belly/rails etc for a prone alaia would be greatly appreciated!

these things look like so much fun, I even bought a set of fins today, a little early I realise but they will do for body surfing with my POD in the meantime!!!

thanks in advance, great to be back

Just a suggestion, for prone using s-fins go a little shorter - I did a few 6’6 for combination surfing and enjoyed the overall length but for prone exclusively would take off at least 6" on any others. You dont really need a wide tail either for prone. Those tail corners can actually get in the way sometimes. Mine really flew in trim, 16.25 wide point, 13.5 tail.
