You have expressed the essence of Swaylocks… No chest pumping… 100% Stoke…
Best post in a long time… Shaped it… Glassed it… Surfed it
Are you still smiling about your effort?
You should be !
Gives me hope for this place…
I’m with Pete. Great share.
peteharwood !!
WELCOME baaackkkk mate !
a hern , you’re STOKED , mate !
even a few 'extras ’ wanted to join you on your maiden voyage eh ?!
yeah ,
personally I would rather see photos and footage of boards and fins being made and ridden , than wade through pages of dross about who was first and who did what , 'back in the day '…WHO gives a rat’s arse about that , anyway , eh ?!
It is , after all , swaylocks surfboard [and fin] design forum , to see and inspire other surfers .
p.s. -
was the go pro … chest , mouth , or helmet-mounted ?
cheers
ben
p.p.s. - just as an aside … ’ Aherns ’ … was the name of a big department store in perth , west australia , back in the 1970s and 1980s …any relation , mate ?
Thanks for the comments. With so much knowledge and expertise here I think it’s hard not to be thankful.
Definitely pumped about the board and it was a chest mount I used for the footage. I have a few other clips with board #2 that was my go to for years. Same quad fin set up but about 6’2 with a rounded pin tail.
No relation to any Australians that I know of unfortunately but I could definitely use another reason for a visit
WELL DONE .
Details man, we need Details! Rocker, rails, bottom contours
thickness. Plus what brand of beer do you drink?, same as your every day Beer or do you drink something special for shaping?
Oh and nice board.
Sweeeeeet!
Great post. And that was a very long wave.
All the best
Major stoke to see that video. LOVED IT!
Surfing is proof that something greater than ourselves exists.
Sorry for the time lapse but here are the details to the board
5’6 x 22" x 2 1/2"
Quad future fins
Single concave to flat bottom with a swallow tail.
4 oz s glass with RR epoxy and a greenish resin tint. First try at tinting and it only came out ok, but the imperfections have grown on me
Thank You. For posting the basics.
