New board done

Made a new board for myself. First time I have tried a triple stringer. Really happy with the way it turned out, can’t wait to try it!

9’10" x 17.5 x 22.5 x 14.5.

Home made tail block

RR epoxy

Clark 10’1"Y blank, super blue

Volan glass, 7.5 oz bottom and 7.5 x 6 oz deck

Not sure if I am going to like the sidebites, never tried them before. May end up riding it as a single.

Really cool outline.

Too bad the side light makes the shape look assym or the t bands offset differently.

RandR… Nice classic clean looking stick. Where you going to surf that North County?.

LeeD try closing one eye it helps with the glair {;+)

Thanks Lee,

It may be off a bit but I think your right that the light makes it look worse. I think that this photo doesn’t look quite as bad.

Thanks Ben,

Yes, I am going to try and get out to Cardiff with it this weekend.

Still nice outline, still looks off at sidebite boxes, especially looking at the offsets, which could easily NOT be even.

Initially, sidebite boxes don’t look even, but it’s prollly old eyes, bad lighting, and a wish for some destructive criticism.

Very nice and clean.

Well done!!!

Nice board.

I like the outlines on your boards.

PM me if you want to surf North county mid week.

I’m meeting friends at Terramar on Sunday morning around 9:00am ,north side of houses.

Cardiff sound like fun too !

Really nice looking board!

I can’t take full credit for the general outline. I have an old 8’11" Velzy that I really like so I copied the template from that and then streached it out a foot.

Really nice board RandR - What was it like doing the cutlaps with Volan and Resin Research epoxy? I’ll be glassing next week with RR on a Clark 9’10H.

As Shipman said ‘classic look’, nice and clean. Good job.

JohnnyT,

The cutlaps with Volan were not that bad. I did the laminate and then kept checking it to make sure it didn’t get too hard. Cut the laps after about six hours cure time (using the “slow” hardener). Used one of those “utility” knives to do the cut.

Good luck on your board, be sure and post a picture when you get it done.

Rick
