I’m very pleased to introduce you to the new forums software. All older and current threads have been imported. I also believe all old private messages have been imported, minus their attachements. Go ahead and continue your conversations. Start new ones. Go nuts.
NEW FEATURES
RSS FEEDS. At the top of every forum you'll see a little icon: Cick that and copy the url into your favorite RSS reader for constant updates.
New image handling. If you click on that little camera icon up there, you'll see a whole new way of uploading images to Swaylocks. The great new benefit is that it stores all your images in one place allowing you to reuse images. You can also browse other people's images...
Embed video feature. It's kind of a hidden feature, but now you can easily embed videos into the forums. More on that later.
Overhauled private messaging system. I think you'll approve.
Userpoints. For the time being, I've done away with the level/status terminology ("User", "Newbie", "Carp", etc) and replaced it with a points system. Members will gain points for doing things that contribute to the community. Hopefully, over time, people with more points will represent those who contribute more to the community. In the future, I plan on setting up a system whereby you can redeem points for swag and other rewards. Again, more on userpoints later.
New user compliment system called "props." Now at the bottom of every person's post, you can pay a compliment to that member by giving them a "prop. You can view the props a person has accumulated in their user profile. Each prop is worth a point...
A sexy new content editor.

Performance & Speed. I believe you'll notice the new forums are slower than the old forum. This is item #1 on my to do list. I am working directly with my host to fine tune the server for optimum performance with the new forum software. Please be patient with this. For what it's worth, forum performance it MUCH better if you don't log in. If you are simply browsing/reading, consider logging out.
Forums search will be disabled a few more days. I'm working on a solution for the new forums.

I’m having real problems, can’t access my user account or settings, can’t post new threads (I just see You are not allowed to post new content in forum), and when I try to reply i see the comment box briefly before i get redirected to a blank page (says error on page).
Just realised if I catch it in time and click the “stop button” I can stop it redirecting me to the blank page? and type something - just testing to see if this works.
Also I’ve now got 375 unread PMs to go through an mark as read/delete
New Sways is looking good so I hope the bugs get worked out shortly. it a a shame we lost all the pictures though the place is looking a bit bare,
If you are having trouble logging in to the new forums (ie. if it says you must “login” or “register” to post new comments) and you keep trying to login with no success – please clear your cookies and then try logging in again…
exelent stuff, I’m on the computer at work ; ) Shssssss and I know we are probaply on a really old version of the browser so I’ll try again a when I get home, I’m really glad we wont lose all those photos, there would be a lot I would miss, like the green hot rod board.
Looks like a crazy amount of work Mike. Don’t take the inevitable grumbling to heart (including mine). Patience is a virtue we’ll all have to practice until the bugs work out.
Crazy stuff going on, some kinks to iron, BUT… I like the way it functions now. it’s also nice to see on the list of posts the last person who posted on each thread, and how long ago! Great feature.
I can’t seem to get images to upload since the change, but maybe I’m doing something wrong. Who knows…

Most of the posts I can’t seem to reply to - surprised I can here. I was particularly trying to post a reply to a thread on Phil Edwards boards and as soon as I found it and tried last weekend I couldn’t post to it.
I did clear my cookies, restarted and tried from Firefox and Safari. MACOSX10.5.6.
Not grumbling at all. Just can’t figure it out. Searching doesn’t work either.
