New Hitcahi planer parts fit old Clark planer?

I’ve got an old Clark Hitcahi planer, while changing the bearings I found them extremely hard to remove. After getting them off I’ve notice that the screws on the block and the armature are messed up. One got mushroomed from removing the bearing and the other is slightly mushroomed. Instead of buying a new planer I looked for replacement parts. However these seem every hard to find. I’ve found

Hitachi P20SB 3-1/4-Inch Heavy Duty Planer

On amazon.com for $100, new. So can I buy that and take the block and armature out of in and put it in my original Clark planer?

they fit. same planer.

Thanks,

I’m guessing the P20ST is the same to just a bit more powerful and work as well.

nope the ST is the updated, but truly a POS compared to the p20sb. pretty different. you can check ereplacement parts for crossovers.

Hi Foil-

Actually most of the parts for the P20SB are different than the parts for the P20ST, including the blades, bearings, etc…  Check out this page for the different parts.

Best of luck!
