New hollow wood design

I posted something on the announcements forum section over a week ago with a link to my Kickstarter project.  Only 87 people have opened that thread, so I thought I would post something here to reach a bigger audience.  Chances of reaching my Kickstarter fund goal are not looking too good, but I wanted to spread the word regardless.

I have designed a hollow wood surfboard blank to be shaped in the same manner as a traditional foam board.  The
idea is that I am replacing foam with wood, but still keeping within the
way a foam surfboard is made.  The same surfboard can be made out
of foam or wood without changing how it is made, therefore not
compromising on quality and yet helping the environment.

Here is the link to my Kickstarter project, it has some more details about the design:

is there a drain component?

…ambrose…

You seem to have a nice product.

I’m considering to support you for a board, but I’d rather get a blank.

Why isn’t there a +/- $700 for a blank? (don’t know the price, I’m just guessing)

Will you ship to europe without extra charges on top of the pledge? if no, what is the extra charge?

Each blank comes with a brass vent.  The vent is applied after glassing.

Blank prices start at $500 for 6’ and under and go up $100 per foot in length.

I haven’t explored shipping over seas, but that cost would be additional.  I will work on getting those prices.

If you want to get a board and do it through Kickstarter, that would be great, no big deal either way.  If you are interested in just a blank, we can do that outside of Kickstarter.

Hey Mark,

I saw one of your blanks that was shaped by Vec up at Twin Lights a while back, looked nice! Keep up the good work!
