New life to a buckled board

So my neighbor down the streets son smashed his board into a peir, buckling it pretty much right in the center. Glass is cracked and dented in and the stringer and I guess the foam too is broken. I’ve read that most of a board’s strength comes from the glass anyway, so if this kid is willing to sell it to me, would it be worth it to try and make a board? It’d just be an experiment.

I searched and I guess it would just be a waste. Someone delete this.

A long time ago we used to put dowels in the foam and reglass. DR

 Anything is possible.

Two of my boards are backup boards that I’ve broken and put back together, and I usually can’t tell the difference…

I suppose a super light small wave board might seem a bit dead and heavy, any normal board, properly put back together, will be more than sufficient as a backup–I use mine on the rockier reefs in the area, and don’t really mind if they get bashed around a little…

If it’s a clean buckle, go for it, if it’s all smashed up, don’t bother.

There’s some archive stuff on fixing broken boards, check back with specific questions…

Materials shouldn’t cost more than 10-20 bucks…
