New (to me) surf report link for Hawaii and Cali.

Hit HB this morning and tested a 10’ that I just finished. I’ve never ridden anything that big before and I am stoked with the characteristics of a big noserider! Anyway, when I came out I found a business card on my car for a Hourly Surf Report website: pacificwaverider.com. I’ve been looking for a replacement since Surfcheck went out and Surfline started charging. I think I have found my replacement. Check it out, it’s pretty good. Magoo

I found it to be pretty sketchy . It once said there were 6 to 8 foot faces at a certain break when it was about 2 foot. I access it from a place called surfcheck different site same swell engine. Also double check the update it didn’t seem to be hourly for all the breaks listed. I’m guessing you live in CA so here’s the last site you’ll ever need. Stormsurf.com go there bookmark feel the power of information.

Smokin’, Thanks Pal. So Cal is home and HB is my spot. Thanks for the tip, Stormsurf is now my ichiban site (aside from Sways’ of course!). Magoo

I have given Pacific waverider a few tries meyself, for the Sonoma and Mendocino coast, and its left me hanging… I read “good” and got stuck in chop, rips, and closed out surf… I guess I have to be skeptical, but I would still have given it a try if it said poor. Words of wisdom: “A bad day in the water is better than a good day of school and making pizza”.

I just checked out that stormsurf site. A LOT OF INFO…almost overwelming. I usually use http://www.wetsand.com/wavecast/wc-socal.asp to check pacific surf. It has links to all of the info that is on stormsurf but starts you out with the basic commentary. Worth a look… GF

My dissatisfaction with Wetsand is that the updates have not been as good as the other sites out there. I really liked Surfcheck, it was fairly accurate. Thanks, Magoo
