Hey everybody, look at my new love! I just picked it up yesterday from The Beach House in Santa Barbara. I’m gonna take it out in about 10 minutes. I’ll let you know how it goes.
6’6" Tri plane Hull by Bob Duncan. George Greenough series 6 hatchett fin with Red X XL-1 side fins.
Ben, you’d better be in bed by now or I’m gonna tell your mommy!!!
This board handled much better than I expected in current conditions. Waves were waist to chest high and a little sloppy with some texture on the surface. Nothing hollow or challenging but little speed sections here and there made for a few good rides.
I was surprised at how easy it was to catch waves. Just a few strokes and I was right in there. It only took a short pump or two to beat sections and I never lost speed on a carve. Caught about eight waves total and at least five were decent rides.
We’re expecting a new South swell next week, hopefully it will have a little more energy to it and I’ll be able to try it out in bigger surf. So far, I am VERY pleased.
