When do you put in the leash plug? Before or after you glass? What tools are needed and where do i place it on the board?
Alongside the stringer, about 2.5" up from the tail.
Router routs cleanest, but you can use a sawblade, screwdriver, and hammer.
After lam coat, before hot coat. Don’t forget to tape off the opening to the bar.
after glassing + hotcoat - use holesaw then router – good luck
After laminating, before hot coat - I use a Forstner bit for a clean hole with a flat bottom.
Hmm not the way they do it in glassing 101 - why b4 hotcoat? I always do it after with good success.

With the cup’s top minimally taped off so there’s still a cup top perimeter showing, the hot coat further seals the lam coat glass edge. As long as it works, there are lotsa “right” ways to get the job done right
