newspaper design on a surfboard

anybody know of a good method to put a newspaper pattern on a surfboard? i think that would look cool. ive done it on small scale on a fin with rice paper, but never done an entire board. is rice paper the only option? because that would be out of the question to plaster an entire board in rice paper sheets printed from my printer. can an airbrusher maybe do it somehow? any other methods?

maybe designs can only go so far. it sounds pretty complcated.

What about some kind of silkscreen process? Maybe copy the text backwards and iron it on.

makes me wonder if tacking it down with 3m 77, then coating it with acrylic would work.
