Nickel and dime...

And, here they are put in another board at pretty close to the placement  that they will be in the new board.

Wow, it kinda looks odd to me… Never know 'til you go I guess.

Boxes dropped on the twin.

Leash plug and FCS camera mount on the minigun. The minigun has been hotcoated for MONTHS.

Finally getting around to finishing it… Nothing like a due date to kick my butt in gear… Only about a month before Plaskett. =D

Hey chris.  Don’t know how I missed this thread.  Great work.  And I love build threads.  I think I would have left the moth on the board.  At least ask to have the pics posted in the “errors and bugs” section!

I also love reading about trials and tribulations, problems and problems solved.  As you know, I’ve had my share of those!

Give us a ride report…

Thanks Jeff!

My first thought with the moth was to leave it. BUT, the more I thought about it, as his body rotted/wasted away, there would be a hole/holes down to the lam layer. Being that I used 1.5lb EPS for the core, I thought that would be asking for trouble. Some of his dust is still there but, I got all of his legs and body out…

Regarding “trials and tribulations, problems and problems solved”, hahaha, this board has had it’s share. I know you’ve had your share too. Actually you’re threads have been ispiring to me to push through stuff when I just want to trash it (not necessarily this board but definitely on others).

You’ll probably be there for the inaugural surf as my schedule from here until the end of September is BOOKED but, I’ll definitely post up how it goes. I’m hoping that we could trade for a few waves? I’d like to give the twinzer a spin. Do you plan to bring a Bonzer to Plaskett? I’ve got one more blanks worth of foam and I’m thinking Bonzer in about the 6’8" range. I’d like to check out the concaves in person.

Yeah,  I’m bring the twinzer and the bonzer.  If the waves are as big as they been in years past the bonzer will shine.  If the waves are head high and under the twinzer will shine.  It took me a pretty long time to get in synch with the bonzer though.  It felt stiff for a long time bit towards the end I was getting it wired.  I put a thicker fin (that I didn’t like becaue it is not 100% symetrical ) and that seemed to help…  Who would have thought?

I wish we’d do Plaskett at the end of summer so I could stay longer.  It always goes so fast…

nice work!  the better you are at working through those little mistakes as though nothing happened, the better a craftsman you are. really impressive journal.

Thanks Pico, I appreciate it…

I’m hoping to get these done then just surf this winter.

It’s setting up to be a good one from what I hear.

You’re in Bodega right? Bet you guys get some monster swell up that way?

Finishing off the finboxes. Extra step but, I feel it makes the space between the finbox and the board more watertight.

Finished!

Chris, your builds have come a long way.  This looks great, congrats.

Love the 5-min epoxy save.  Done that many, many times

Thanks Benny!

I’m happy with this one.

Good stuff Chris...I think a Mini Bike thread would go great on Swaylock's.....I saw an old Honda over at the Lower Tech Lab.....Looked like it is in running condition.....maybe a 100cc???

Ray

Cool looking board. I run the FCS plugs the other way for gopro mounts. Can the camera swivel to the direction you are after or have your some cunning plan?

Sounds good Ray. I’d love to see some pics / info on the Honda.

Getting the bike running is on the short list.

Me and my wife are going to get our M1’s for eachother for Christmas.

There is a class locally put on by the CHP that takes you through the whole thing.

P-Co, Wish I had a cunning plan. I’m kicking myself for putting it that way now. DOH!

I’m sure I’ll finegal something for the time being.

My inclination tho is to route it out and re do it lengthwise.

the LowER tech lab has a 1973 honda xl 250… not a mini bike… capable of running desert races back in its prime… thinking of getting a different bike though, so if anyone’s interested, it runs great & street legal too, PM me…

Aw man! I’ve been wanting an XL 250 for awhile now!

My sister in law has one in her backyard that’s just rotting.

I keep asking her what she wants for it and she hems and haws.

That’s a cool bike Keith!

Foiled some G10 fins for the twinny today. After I was done with them, I shot them with clear spray.

Kinda hid the foil lines but looks pretty in person.

just read the whole thread backwards.

bitchin.

…ambrose…

soon to be there?

cowabunga.

Right on Ambrose!

Surf is soon to be here (hopefully).

Maybe one of these years you can make it back over for the campout?

Leave your paradise and come visit ours. Just for the weekend.
