My plug resin mix is usualy lam, micro bubbles and white pigment and then catalized, but always seem to get exesive bubbles after its kicked, any sugestions.
I use the same mix and had that problem… I think it’s due to air getting trapped in the holes I push out into the foam to create a better key for the resin. I now mix it up and pour it in the hole then leave it for about 5 mins or a little longer to allow the bubbles to surface. I then push the plug in really slow and pool a good bit of resin round the top of the plug. If you have the luxury of time you can’t hover around popping bubbles as they rise up until it gels. Alternatively you can forget about them, sand the plug and blob in a tiny bit of pigmented resin into the offending holes. Cheers rich
For what kind of plugs? If it’s for FCS, why are you skipping the fiberglass powder in the mix?
I’m guessing that’s that’s the micobubbles he mentions?
poly or epoxy?
if poly then is so simple. use less microballs and also less mekp.put mekp for a slow cure. then use a niddle to blow all small bubbles which rises to the surface.
