Non- PU Material for Practicing Lams and Resin Tinting?

Howzit,

As a beginning board-builder, I would like to practice the polystyrene lamination and resin tinting prior to using it on an actual board. However I cannot source any scrap PU foam. Is there any other readily-obtained cheap material I may use for this purpose? I have been thinking of anything flat and white, such as thin wood paneling, however to save time, I'll ask Swaylockians about this first.

Thanks for your consideration.

Broken boards are a good source of scrap PU foam. Try a place that does a lot of board repair.  Where are you located?
