anyone know what kind of bottom is in vogue this winter on the step up (6’6" to 7’) boards on the north shore?
Many experienced North Shore shapers transition out of concaves around the 7’ mark. Some keep just a touch of double between the fins, with rolled vee forward and maybe the slightest hint of vee out the back. I’ve had some really good step up boards with roll in front, double between the fins (not a compound, double-in-single, but true double), and some vee out the back. Of course, I don’t really ride concaves anymore. Hope this helps. Rocker’s more important, anyhow.
good reply - thanks
