nose riding rocker

I am shaping a 9’0 noserider. I am wondering what the most effective rocker (nose and tail) I am considering using the 9’1Y with existing rocker of 4 5/32 in the nose and 3 13/16 in the tail or the 9’4B with 5 in the nose and 3 1/2 in the tail. I realize that the rocker will become less either way depending on the cut adjustment for lenght. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Andy

Thanks Andy Your overall length seems kind of short for a noserider, but it depends on how big you are and whether or not you are going for a traditional style or a modern type that will come off the bottom for reentries and will be somewhat responsive. The type of board you decide to do should dictate your rocker. In other words don’t put a real flat nose rocker on a performance longboard that you are going to be doing off the lips with. Jim Phillips has posted some stuff on reverse rockers with the 10’1"Y blank for a great nose rider (you should check the archives). For me I would go something like 3.5" in the nose and 4" tail. Good luck. I’m sure you’ll get some good feedback.
