…go for broke mate !

got an impression about nose less fish

here’s my impression of a ‘noseless fish’ [you should hear my impression of mel brooks !]

Well, you know my opinion.

Off the top of my head, a few advantages I see/have experienced over the last 6 years of riding them:

  1. They have a rail line similar to a bigger board with less swing-weight and less nose to catch when hooking them in smaller pockets (this is the biggest advantage IMO)

  2. When you throw them into a reverse, the nose becomes a mini-squash tail (MarkSpindler, who posts here, even made some custom finlets that I had on the nose of the orange one for a while… seemed to help keep a little additional control while riding backwards) - ok, maybe this is more psychological than truly hydronamic, but let me live my fantasy!

  3. They fit very well in my 2-door honda civic

"WHA , WHAT IS that ???

WHY don’t you just ride a NORMAL board ?

…Is that some kinda FISH ???

…You owe Simon Anderson FARVE DARLORS ! "

noseless boards are fine i ride two of JLW regulary. it really affected nothing, those last sixinches did nothing for paddling, and only once in a while does not having that nose rocker suck. I would take a board with a broken nose off anybody’s hands for free

Makes sense

what the ultra pointed last 6 inches does is really debatable other than aestheics for the eye lines…

hey oneula, don’t you have a board with two useless noses?

before packing up my ‘junk’ tp move to the Bahamas, i found a 6’5" sharp eye in the dumpster outside my apartment. I figured i could fix it and give it to a kid in the (other)islands to learn on.

i fixed it, it is now 6’1", and to test it out, i rode it one 4’ day, and found that other than catching on some super steep - and late - drops it didn’t change anything. in,fact it is a comfortable hand rest while laying on the board, or duck diving.

interesting comment on being able to use a bigger board’s outline, while maintaining shorter size.

in some ways, the way a fish’s nose sweeps in drastically follows the same thought.
