now that the Pope Bi-sect Patent has expired...

Anyone out there monkeywreching a solution to one of the Holy Grails…?

Seems like a good fit for the composite boyz…a custom, hella strong sectional board.

Maybe even a 5 pic board, with a core center shape and a longer and shorter nose and tail,

shortboard/step-up combo in a plain black rigid plastic case marked “Display Table”,

that could travel as regular baggage and fit in a trunk.

With what seems like every possible permutation of surfboard shape and materials under construction

these days, gotta think sooner or later someone will step up to the plate with a quality custom sectional.

And hopefully it’s not Surftech…

I think the greater the number of pieces, the harder it is the keep the integrity of the composed craft.
It’ll take a smart man to figure out a real solution
Or woman…

Icc, have you seen the board that Shwuz built a while back that was a trisect with 2 different tails for different conditions?

Looked pretty sweet.

Surfboard evolution tends towards the incremental vs. the transformational, exceptions being the advent of the thruster decades ago, and to a lesser degree the more recent use of computerized shaping machines, an advance which doesn’t float all boats.

The introduction of a custom quality multi-piece, one board quiver system will not only  be extremely transformational, it will make the builder(s) some very serious cash.

The uni-body surfboard is a beautiful thing, the primary icon for our sport/dance/lifestyle forever.

Still, would be nice to have a ‘surfboard in a box’  in the quiver to remove the ‘lugging around’ factor from surf trips and even the daily mix.

Once gas hits $6 a gallon here in the US, now $8 in parts of Europe, being able to fit a decent break down board into the  micro-mini gas sipper might be the only way many folks will be able to afford to go surfing.
