NSP Fish measurements

hey there folks!

Here’s the thing: I just got home from a summer trip. I didn’t bring my board coz I didn’t think there’s gonna be a swell, at least not the season. But when we got there, the swell! I was like “AAAARRRGGHH!!! WHYYY?!”. Anyway, luckily there were a lot of rentals around, so I went to the nearest one. They handed me a 6’0 NSP Fish, and when I rode it, it somehow felt nice. Probably almost if not at par with my all-around short. So, I’m thinking of making a board like that. Why not buy? The board’s pretty straight edge, flat bottom, very low rocker, lame graphics = not a fan. I like the dimensions but I want to add something more. Now here’s the problem, I took the measurements and I swear I had it in my pocket or my bag, but I cant seem to find it! I looked up the website but they’re short with the board specs info. The local shop just sold their last stock. If anyone have some info about the measurements of the NSP fish range, I would really appreciate it if you share it.

Thank you so much! Stay Stoked!

There aren’t more infos on the board as on the homepage as far as i know…

Yeah, already checked the site. I’m looking for the nose and tail width, and the rocker profile if possible.

Bottom is pretty sure flat.

NSP took their dems from somewhere....who's the shaper?

Hahahahahahahahaha

and the glass shop is where?

There's 1500 people on Swaylock's building fish. Nice fish...... and it's so easy to build one....

Please do more research on NSP....not so pretty.......not custom.....not what you're thinking.

I know. That’s why I’m leaning to make my own. My ride with the NSP fish made me more interested with the Fish, and I’m definitely gonna build one. Or two. hahaha

I noticed the NSP’s nose is wider than the tail, whose idea was that? It’s somehow like an EggFish eh?

I'm a backyard builder. If you follow any of my stuff on Swaylock's you will see that I never give recommendations on outline dimensions or bottom contours. I'm more of a glasser than a shaper but fish and eggs are very interesting to me. I'm more than happy to give you numbers from boards that I have made. Yes...nose wider than tail is common with fish. There's a thead going on right now about Modern Fish.........If you click the "resources" tab at the top of the page and go to "photo archives" you can find lots of fish stuff.....The best stuff is under 6'.

5'11" x 21 1/2" x 2 1/2" are the baseline numbers for a Shipman Fish. That's where I start.

Ray- sounds about right… Nose and tail widths on fishes seem to be anywhere from 15", 16"-to 18" at the widest in the nose, and tails tend to be slightly narrower. For example: I went with a 21" wp, 15" nose x 14" tail… But if you like a sightly fuller nose maybe try 15.5" -16" nose 14.5"-15" tail. Just some ideas…
