nsp repairs?

does anyone know how to go about repairing these boards? the website says its an epoxy board with another layer over it. do I just go about it as an epoxy repair?

Yes, just repair it like any Epoxy Glass and EPS foam board. The outer skin is plastic. Take care to get a good overlap from your new glass to the glass and resin layer under the skin. The the bond to the plastic may not be great. I have a 7’10" NSP that I keep as a loaner for friends. It was run up the rocks and played a little pinball. I had to fix the nose, it had split open a bit. Decided to over-build by just capping it with about 6 or 7 layers of 4oz, and never even bothered to paint it white. Over a year later it is going strong no worries.

Forget about fixing the NSP . Support your local industry and get a fiberglass board!

Sure just throw it in the garbage and buy another board or two. Never fix anything always just buy more right Petey?

Ya ya trash em like Bic lighters! and buy new ones .thats the beauty of foam and fiberglass they only last so long, thus keeping the human touch and jobs for boardbuilders like you and I. What would this industry be like if all boards came from CHINA or THAILAND and lasted FOREVER would our precious American foam comanies and fiberglass supply stores even exist? keep em comin’ Petey

You can use Dingleberries on NSP boards to fix simple dings. They are made of an EPS core, wrapped in Fiberglass and sprayed with expanding epoxy resin. The outer skin is a PVT - Poly Vinly Topsheet material. The rails have been cut back after the molding process, filled and reshaped with Epoxy. Pretty simple to fix.

The only thing with Dingleberries is it is gray and most of the NSPs are white so you might need to spray over it and sand it back with some white matt to get a flawless result.

i suggest a circular saw. set to 3". cut in foot long sections from nose to tail. take to garbage can.

only one match?

one lighter maybe, but I can hardly get anything burning with ONE match…

Fix all boards that can be fixed. Keep them as loaners. Give them to a grom or someone who can’t yet afford their ship of dreams. Spare the landfill for a while longer. Don’t burn plastics. Please.

AMEN!!!
