Does anyone remember Oak Street Surf Shop in Laguna Beach, CA? Does anyone remember a guy named Mike Spencer who worked for the shop? Thanx!

who was “rennie”? viking? I’m actually doing some research on Oak Street, Spencer, Stuart Boen (spelling???) and Bill Ogden. I wasn’t alive during that period, so any further information you could provide would be most helpful! thanx!
Rennie was Mike Spencer’s girlfriend. Big deal. Mike Spencer had a facial profile with a classic Roman nose to go with his strong chiseled Viking like features. I don’t know the other guy. If you go into some of the last few underground sort of stores in the middle of town on the coast highway, you could see some of Ogden’s paintings directly on the walls. And if you are lucky someone my break out some of his art, or sell you a old poster. Last heard he was living in the desert somewhere, and stops into Laguna now and then. Mike, Rennie, and a few of us would sit out on the sidewalk in front of the surf shop and drink beers, laugh and yell shit back an forth at other surfers that we knew as they drove past us. Mike shaped a few boards for Dyno Surfboards one year in the mid seventy’s. Mike was way to mellow and kick back for the owner of Dyno. He was happy with the pace at Oak St. Good Luck
Around the year 1974 thru 1979, I worked for Oak St. Surf Shop in the retail store. I do not remember any one by the name of Spencer working there so he must have been before '74. I do remember Mike Armstrong who was our board shaper; working in the basement of all places...not too safe but that was the only place available. Early on, before '73, they had a juice bar located on the south side of the building. I remember someone at Oak St. Surf Shop started the first Luge (very long) downhill board and raced them down some of the steepest hills in Laguna Beach. The owners of Oak St. were Ed and Gail Gottschalk (sp?) or something like that. Then around 1979-80, they sold the building and retired from not only the surf shop but closed their wholesale building in Mission Viejo, CA which shipped skateboards/trucks/wheels,parts, OP/surf wear, etc. around the world.
