My 8’0" speed egg came w/ O’fishl side fins already installed. Just recently, I decided to ride it a s single fin and I tried taking out the side fins. Someone had told me these fins simply snap in and out of the fin box. I gave a shot at removing them and ended up busting the little plastic tab or clip located at the tail end of the box that secures the fin. Now, when I put my side fins back into the box they’re loose as a goose and they come off easily. Is there any way to fix this problem apart from replacing the entire fin box? Worst comes worst I’ll just glue the fins but I’d rather not do that. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks in advance.
Mambo, you have to use a screwdriver in the little seam between the fin and the clip, to spread the clip back towards the rear edge of the box to remove o’fish’l fins. If the tabs are now broken, you will need to contact mark or Mel at O’fish’l ( 949.496.4798)
to get some new clips. You do not have to replace the boxes, and glue won’t work. Your gonna lose the fins if you try that. Make sure you have the guys at o’fish’l explain how to install the new clips. They only fit one way. Good luck!
Mambo,
Were you at? I have a few extra z-clips lying around. I could put some in an envolope and mail them if you want.
