ok whats that

ok i got a 7’4 or maybe 7’2 im thinking of making , about the same shape as a 6’11 i love …the thing is i dont know alot about fins and this 6.11 has 3 fins like a thruster setup i thnk and rides great, so would 7’4 be bad to put a thruster set up on,i mean would 7’4 mean single fin ,??? or 2 smzller side fins…?im shure it all works some how but …ok any idea or question?

no dumb ass take thet peice o crap in the front yard and chop it up with a axe at 6:00 AM on a monday , give the neighbors something to talk about at “work”

What determines fin config is width of tail, rocker, and what YOU like in a ride.

If you like the 6’11" tri, then make a tri, with a tail 2" wider than the nose, just like the board you like. Only a longer tri is usually made for slightly bigger waves, so just plan on finding bigger surf. You can loosen it for smaller/weaker waves by adding a finbox in the center and using smaller fins in smaller waves in the tail.

Most single fin boards have WP’s more forwards, tails narrower, noses wider, thickness forwards, less nose kick and thinner, more foiled tail rails.

MOST, not all, as McCoys defy convention and surf well.

yeah that helps…its sortof a funshape or whatever but the nose isnt round likr a longboard, its like some weird …well nevermind itll mostly be ridden in less than head high…so would 3 fin be so bad? all the fins the same size i mean

So is it a big guy tri? A “desert island”? Like a one board for waist high to DOH?

Why limit yourself to 3 identical sized fins, if you don’t know what size waves you are gonna get?

While I’m not necessarily advocating 3 finboxes, something I’d do for sure, at least have a center tail finbox, so you can adjust for wave size and power.

And you know a tighter cluster makes for snappier turning, a spread cluster makes for bigger sweetspot on faster waves.

ok thanks for the help il read thie agajn tommorow.gwet it ,and laugh…but thanks for the input
