Are there any tricks to refurbishing classic boards? How can you make the repairs match the yellowed, weathered glass? Is there a tint ot pigment?
Try using Vinylester or general purpose laminating resin used by boat builders. These resins are not clear and a similar colour to the old boards.David.
Matching older, somewhat browned boards… I have a little trick I use that comes close. One of those ‘discovered by accident’ deals. I work with a guy who takes his coffee black. And one morning I had an older board to fix and I was all out of mixing cups. Used a used paper coffee cup with a little dried coffee residue in the bottom and sonofagun, it was a pretty good match. Try dissolving a little ( as in a few grains of ) instant coffee in some acetone and using that as a tint. Probably the best possible use for ( ghackkkk ) instant coffee. Play with it a little bit to fine tune your color/tint. doc…
