amazing to see so much sand on the beach and on the slope (where all the homes now have their retaining walls and front lawns. Where did all the sand go? Thanks for the photo, Kit

amazing to see so much sand on the beach and on the slope (where all the homes now have their retaining walls and front lawns. Where did all the sand go? Down to Andrew Lusters former abode… The guys I surfed with from the early days? Ventura…one in Stockholm, don’t know if he still surfs; several moved to northern Santa Barbara County…one still surfs. One in Lompoc, surfs once in a while, perhaps “only when it’s necessary”, usually with his adult son. Malibu era, I haven’t got a clue.

Most are to bullied by their cutie --turned beast of a wife .The wife has the real bucks, I assume. The others are surfing big time .Still just going to exotic locals or rich f&**ers at the ranch!!!

Bunch of shoulder hopping sissies!

Only me. A few are dead, some say “Im too old for this”. Man it sure does feel good to slide a few every once in awhile!

I have just one friend from my middle school days that I surf with when he visits from California. Other than that when I do go surfing with a friend, its usually someone I’ve met within the last few years. I’ve gotten to know most of the regulars at the breaks I frequent, some breaks are a bit harder to crack, like Ala Moana Bowls, but most of the guys are rather cool once you get to know them. Maybe its because I’m older now, I’m more open to talking to others, where as in my younger days I’d keep to myself a lot. Whatever the case, a howzit and a smile go a long way in the line up.

moonsnoopdawg, Kemp, Miki, Tubesteak, Dewey. That’s all I could name.

None of my old close friends(early 60’s-70’s) still surf except my old army buddy Marty(PPNF). Alot of them have health problems that keep them out of the water. Knees, shoulder, neck, back, heart, etc, Getting old sucks sometimes. Alot of friends made in the last 20 years still surf regularly.
