Mate, your love for something’s should have a price, for so many years the surf industry has sold it self to the cheapest bidder so many of my mate’s on the Gold Coast have stuggled to make a living and not make millons but hundreds of dollars because some people import from cheap labour country’s and we can not compete. The chemical companys are the guys making all the dollars they remind me of the Gunnrunners of every conflict the world has ever had.
does that mean we can make and sell fcs tabbed fins without getting sued ?
I have always wondered about that …
cheers !

Yes, in the particular instance of replacement fins to fit FCS boxes. It is not safe to extrapolate from this case, though. Worth noting is the wording of the three FCS patents:
Every claim is made in terms of the “surfcraft” and the fin box. Had FCS taken the trouble to patent the box and the fin seperately (and perhaps the fin feature was not patentable by itself for some reason), I’m pretty sure the outcome would have been different…
Hi Balsa, the plugs (specially the leash plug) seems like the ones made in SA, but i know of at least two FCS “replacements” made in Spain: Eurofin and Full&Cas.
The ones made in SA have a way better look and feeling and they even have a “carbon paste” option at a great price… i would go with those ones.
