Old Time Glossing Trick

Here is another trick that I learned years ago (you guys asked for em).So here we are ready to do a gloss coat, the board is taped off and the resin is mixed and all of a sudden you feel dust all over the board.(this is because of static electricity created during the sanding process)No worry…stretch out a couple of feet of masking tape and drag it sticky side down over the board,it will pick up all of the dust buggers.I learned this from a pro Australian glosser back in the dark ages.Strange but true.

Another thing that might work are those things that you throw in the dryer with the laundry that eliminates static electricity. It nutralizes the charge. Or a variation on the masking tape idea is a lint brush roller. Same thing a the tape Idea but the tape is an a roll already sticky side out so all you have to do is roll it over the deck. when the tape is full of dust…peal it back and you got a new layer of sticky…get em at trhe dollar store.
