O'neill Wetsuits - Best service EVER!

I sent my O’neill Psycho 2 wetsuit back to the factory for new kneepads.  I take good care of it, wash it out in fresh water with a little laundry detergent in a bucket after each use.  So I sent the wetsuit with the receipt, and let them know it was over a year old (out of warranty).  I was told they would get back to me on the cost.

In just three weeks, they

  • Replaced both kneepads
  • Replaced neck collar panel
  • Replace shoulder panel
  • Replace key pocket
  • Reglued all the seams
They did all the work for free!  And this was the second time they did it!

I’m a customer for life!

thats pretty sweet but…I wear rip curl wetsuits. About three years ago i had one of the knees peeling off of my wetsuit (they were the kind that were just ironed on to the wetsuit). I brought the suit into rip curl and in a week the called me and told me they were just going to give me a wetsuit. Rip Curl gave me a new and upgraded wetsuit!!! Then i took that wetsuit and surfed it for a while before i started to get a tear on a few seams. Took it in again and was given another new wetsuit for free…3 wetsuits for the price of the first, and an upgrade in quality over a period of 3 1/2 years not bad…

Now how about free ding repair fir the first year,

ever ask yourself why?

because…  they are all making such a ridiculously immense profit off of us by manufacturing this junk in Thailand/(insert your own 3rd world nation) for literally pennies - they can easily afford to give you a new suit

they aren’t doing you, your community, your surf spot or your country a favor

they made a more than reasonable mark-up, and are simply behaving like all corporations do - responding to customer service so you’re a happy re-peat customer

don’t ever forget, they are making their Mercedes payments & going on Indo trips each month off of your hard earned dollar

Have you ever tried to make yourself a wetsuit Mr wessel?  Get over your jealousy, do things to make your life better, buy a wetsuit, go surfing, have fun.

They did well by me! I sent in my psycho2 (two year old) that had zipper issues and they sent me the new 2011 model! No shops had them or were they online yet? I feel like a team guy.....

They change the chest plate/ cuffs/ and more.. the rubber is so buttery ….I don’t no know how long it will last but it feels great in the water!! Much warmer than the old

Yea O’Neill

not jealous, marsh-man, just honest

never made a suit, no, that’d be tough…

I have had several customs made by individuals locally - very expensive, but very nice too

I have owned dozens of O’neills too…

maybe you don’t get the point - wetsuits are manufactured overseas for a few dollars in sweatshops, imported with small import fees, and sold for a big mark-up - sweatshop workers are often young kids, and in fact have much shorter life spans - they die as young as their 20s

my life is actually pretty good; I probably surf more than my fair share!

it’s the lives of the sweatshop workers that need to get better someday, because right now it kind of sucks

I have a Psycho 2 as well, i think its the 2006 model (blue), 4:3, no hood. Comfortably surfed all winter in Ireland. Its a year old now, The only problem I have with it is that now it seems to pool water in the gut area. I think a 5:3 would be a better choice next time as it should be more durable. But now that you've mentioned sending them away, i might do the same, see what they say.

Cool info everysurfer! Props!

a 2006 model that is ‘a year old now’?

On a personal note, I use a 4/3 Oneill Heat in SoCal. Singly taped throughout.

Very durable suit, never had a problem with these over 3 suits, same model.

4/3 are warmer and more durable in what is essentially 3/2 territory(Southern California).

However, whereas most people who are trim , fit and not overweight…they tend to wear their 3/2’s  up to 9 mos. out of the year.

I’m trim fit & not overweight, but because its a 4/3, I only wear it about 6 mos. of the year and have to peel off the 4/3 earlier in Spring in favor of less rubber, that contributes to the durability

also of my mainline suit. I easily get an extra year of wear out of these over a 3/2 before the rubber essentially stiffens up too much, but they are always warm regardless

of age. I’ve got 2 styles of springsuit that take me through early spring and early fall. The springsuits last many years because the demands from them are not as frequent

nor does their porosity/leakage affect their warmth/value much.

Yeah, it must have been hanging in a shop for sometime. I bought it in Bidart in France for 250 euro. The psycho 2's in Ireland cost about 450 euro, and its hard to find one without a hood aswell.

I've never owned a spring suit, I use one suit all year around. The last one, a Mutant 5:4:3 lasted me nearly 2 years.

I wear a 4:3 in so cal too, but thats because I am a wuss when it comes to cold water!!
