Awesome… Looks like a little rocket!
I wish I could make a board so well, beautiful stuff…
Thanks SSP…
Mout watering!
Hopefully this is why Oneula hasn’t been posting so much lately! Beautiful board, and thanks for more pics of the 2+1 the tail/fin setup on that one is awesome
now TELL us a bit about the board…
The angles are cool, they are a real eye-catcher !!

If Curren rode this in Indo instead of the Petersen Fireball or in South Africa instead of the Frye, Chandler would’ve been “Shaper of the Year” way back then… That’s how good they are
It’s the perfect blend of an ultra short stubbie design that rips like a 6’2" potato chip when you want and flow like a fish when you want to do that too. I’m really believing that you want ot go with the shortest possible piece of foam that’ll work for you like McCoy’s zap or Chris Toloa riding his Sponge standup…
You can ride this as a 5-fin, quad, thruster or twin with the appropriate fins which are all hand made by Chandler based on your needs and what he knows about the board.
Your ultimate wetdream Ben.
So far I have not heard from a single person whose gotten on one no matter where, East Coast, Baja, California, Hawaii north and south shore or south america that wasn’t totally blown away. Especially once they figure out how to correctly use the turbo charger in the tail. There’s even someone in Europe who bought a used one from Cali and hopefully we’ll hear from him soon somewhere. I’ve got a Mandala Quad, Firewire Fish, Gemini and this Griff 5-fin in this catagory and no matter how many of these and other boards I take with me to test, I can never get past pulling the Griff out for almost any condition.
There are many powerful industry people out there who do not see the value of Chandler making these types of boards and didn’t want him to make them so he’s basically unemployed now because he refused to quit making them for undergrounders like us and that’s a report on the sad sad state of the industry here today. It’s the same story for Jeff Alexander’s struggle. Like I once told Mark/Greg where ever you have perfect surf you have very little incentive to innovate becaase the wave does all the work. That’s why Florida in many ways has had some of the most innovative shapers and surfers in the industry and that’s coming from a Kamehameha trained Hawaiian. Most of the modern innovation from here came from drug induced inspiration not anything involving real thoughtful commitment(Except Jim Richardson and the SUPs). Case in point, Brewer’s tri fin swallow tail concaved bottom with air injection he made for Owl in the 70’s, I’m sure you can find the picture in Surfer Chippy…
Oh by the way…
that’s a polish sand finish you’re looking at
no gloss coat here
the guy Chandler’s using is good…

…which means absolutely NO sand-throughs… OK, still a few things to learn as far as sanding (amongst other things) is concerned…
