Just took off a chuck .5 in.wide and .25 deep on my last step before glassing what can I use to fill the hole?
HELP!
Traditionally you’d square it out, glue in a chunk of foam to fit (tightly) and shape it down.
if it were me, i’d probably fill it with resin/microbaloon mix
Ok ! Thanks!!!I tought I could use some kind of paste or foam dust and white glue...i d ont know, but I will do it as you wrote.
I also read in the archives I can use spackle ....what is it? anybody who speaks french can tell me or can you give me a trademark ...is it like polyfila? thank you!
If it's not too late... Take a scrap of foam and rub it against some sandpaper until you have a little pile of foam dust. Mix it with a little resin, a little catalyst and a couple drops of white pigment. Dab it on to your ding. Get it smooth - just scrape over it with the edge of a credit card. Glass right over it. It doesn't have to cure.
no it s not too late ,and I like the idea.
Try not to spread it all over the place. Just keep it confined to the dented area. It works fine (nearly invisible) with a clear glass job.
that’s much better than my idea! thanks John, i’ll have to remember that one
Hi chris -
Same idea. Sometimes it's a pain to find some of those additives. Since he just shaped a board I figured he had some scrap foam around.
