opininion on Takayama noserider

Not a shaping question but a design question. What are your thoughts out there on the Takayama noserider model - The one I have a line on is, used, is 9’6" with a 18"nose,15"roundedpintail, 31/16"thick, 22 3/4"wide. Has a moderate concave and It’s a tri-fin (up to now, I’ve been riding only single fins) and it’s lighter foam and glass than I expected. The two side fins are glassed on and the center fin is a 8" or 9" (my choice) Takayama flex fin. When I think of noseriders I think of heavyglassed, denser foam, singlefins, so would like your thoughts on this design. I’m 185lbs and about 6 feet tall and surf everything but prefer pointbreaks. The price is good and it’s a signed Takayama so I may just grab but value your opinions and ideas. Mahalo

I’ve ridden several DT’s, and if I wanted a noserider, I’d go for the Model T. Little heavier, single fin, square tail, noserides like a dream. DT noserider seemed a little slower out of a turn, and I personally just like the feel of the single fin better. I’ve got a DT double ender, 9’ - 18 - 221/2 - 15 -3" single fin pin that I really love, but if it’s a noseriding day I take the Model T.

I have a 10’0" model T, along with some new school boards. The board is simple and ‘pure’. The flipside is this, if it’s overhead any anyplace but San’O, you can really get bent on the thing. It’s happiest in chest high surf. Best bet, get a model T for fun smaller days, but something else for heavier surf.
