Ive always been fascinated with some of the Guild type facilities around the country.
So heres the situation… we are lucky enough to have grown very quickly and we are looking to move again into a bigger space, however we have a nicely built out facility now in Anaheim. Its kind of a shame to tear it all down.
We have a 2 year lease we are 6 months into.
So I am interested in possibly turning this into a guild type enviroment if there are enough interested parties…
Here are some specs on the factory.
16 foot ceilings.
Office with board delivery racks.
3 station climate controlled epoxy glassing room
Vented Airbrush room
2 shaping rooms 8x16 x 10 with Adjustable steel racks.
1 sanding room,
2 Blank storage lofts with storage for over 300 blanks
Demising wall between shaping and glassing area
8 station laminating room with seperate lap grinding area. for dust control
Vented and ducted lam room
UV Box
Lots of storage.
Small AC units in Shaping rooms.
Full AC in Building.
Alarmed
Secure park good parking
Kitchenette in unit.
We also have a second unit in the park for expansion if needed. Built out unit is 2000sft
We would still be a part to some extent not sure what at this time.
There are details to work out with several guys having access and sharing shaping rooms and glassing areas. Storage lockers etc, that you would be responsible in froviding to lock up your tools.
Our main hallway is 8 foot wide so plenty of room for a few lockers on 1 side and shaped blanks on the other.
24 hour access.
Rates im thinking along these lines. depending on how it works out.
2 guys 725.00 a month each including Utilities
3 guys 485.00 a month each Including Utilities
4 guys {probably my max} 365.00 each 2 guys per shaping room.
Just an idea. Id much rather keep this a factory than gut everything
I think it would work well for smaller guys who need a space where they can do everything without bothering neighbors etc.
I also like the idea of guys being able to work together and share ideas and techniques. Ive seen a lot of good things come out of shops set-up like this.
Our goal is to have our new shop up and running in December so the timeline is about 2 months to see if this can work.
