Origins of the wing/sting?

Just the “Olphart” in me.

In my life time all kinds of designs have come and gone.

Some designs were not realized at that particular time period.

Not poor ideas, just ahead of time.

Swallow tail? 1st I saw (photo) Tom Blake (balsa job) eh, with numbers on where to stand, yeah.

In my own experience, I have come up with (what I thought were) new and novel ideas.

Only to be shot down in flames, mostly by one Dale Velzy.

God only knows what the ancients did.

IMHO, with maybe the exception of the thruster (35 years ago BTW).

And again God and maybe SammyA knows if that idea was really new.

Here’s the deal.

 Velzy.

What a mind.

We really do OWE him.

The bump way ahead of its time.

It seems MP (longboard days) was on the ball.

I am ignorant of others.

Oh, and when Jacobs was concerned about Copeland’s success with the Nuuhiwa.

Dale shows up, undercover of course.

IMHO the absolute noserider materialized.

Later the need to “step in” our outlines, we drew (aware or not) on the masters’ concept.

My answer to the thruster circa 1980.

And Velzy?
