(ot) San Diego used board market

Hello everyone,

My brother-in-law is a snowboard instructor in Colorado and he was invited on a baja surf trip with some clients. He will be in SD on May 30th and leaving for Mex. the next day. He was tempted to buy a popout, but I was able to convince him otherwise.

So- if anyone in the SD area has a garage that looks like mine and is trying to get rid of a board, we both would be very appreciative. He is looking to spend somewhere around $275-300 You’d probably even get a free place to stay at Copper Mtn, CO if you ever venture that way.

If you don’t have a board, but you do have a recommendation for good, reputable surf shop that has a decent stock of used boards, that would help as well.

His dim’s- 6’0", 165lbs of pure starvation diet and manual summer labor with enough talent to seriously harm himself snowboarding.

I was thinking something in the 6’8" to 7’2" range X 21ish wide and full enough outline to compensate for his noodle arms.

I tried to push the longboard idea, but he is not having it. He has been surfing with me a few times and he can catch waves if you yell at him hard enough so it’s not that big a deal.

any help is appreciated &

have a great day-

john

Craigslist San Diego always has a ton of boards (http://sandiego.craigslist.org). Otherwise, Surfride or Mitch’s Surf Shop (both in Solana Beach) are usually good places to find decent used boards.

I’ve seen nice used boards at Liquid Foundation in Mission Beach. Luck is a factor of course.

San Diego is a good place to be looking.

Noah, from your name I think you live about a minute away from me… do you still live there?

D-Rock

longboard grotto up in leucadia is a good place for all kinds of used boards, short and long

hank at pure fun (just north of encinitas blvd on the ocean side of 101) can get you on a used board too, there are some demos and lots of nice shapes there.

I have an older 7’2" Rusty collecting dust. Let me know if interested.
