OT....What's the view like from where you work?

Hey people

Coming to this forum has made me feel like I live in a small fishbowl.

I haven’t stepped out of Australia in my 43 years on this planet. I’m sure there’s a lot more of you out there just like me.

It would be good to see what others are seeing from where they work. No BS piccies, anyone can do that.

Here’s what I see from my office every day.

Perth, Western Australia, looking from north to south

i didnt take these pictures but you can get the gyst.

ive seen this on one day.

always a pleasure to be in this cubicle.

you know what i get to do on my lunch breaks?

No view from my work station. But…

Less than 2 miles from South Carlsbad State beach!!!

Down 6th Ave in Manhattan, NY. full view of the Empire State building downtown (south) by about 12 blocks. Sorry - no camera w/me here.

Office next to me could see directly to the Twin Towers. On 9/11 most of the office saw the whole horrible, disgusting event. Thankfully, I was 20 miles away at home that day.

NY, NY, it’s a helluva town.

Eric J

well i tried to upload an attachment but it didnt really work. i go to school at the largest collection of frank lloyd wright buildings.

Well…I can’t see much except scrap paper. But here’s me AT work. I’ve got a recycling business with a shredder, baler, forklifts, wheel loaders, trucks…big noisy toys. Fun fun fun. That’s the baler’s infeed conveyor behind me.

*************, west australia…

  1. lunchtime, looking north…

(This used to be “junkie central” . Now , they’ve renovated, upped the rents , got rid of the old vans , and well-off retired couples live there, instead. MUCH quieter, and more peaceful now !)

  2. " knock off time" , looking north west [ocean is over that hill anout 500 metres / 1/4 mile]…

Grant , it’s lucky you said no B.S. pics …I was just about to post a shot of where I spend a lot of my life …but I couldn’t get it to flush today, for some reason … must be a choker !

sorry for the quality (from a sidekick camera phone)

from my high prison cell(12-14 hours a day) in the financial plaza downtown honolulu looking straight out at honolulu harbor and sand island and looking from my desk towards Ewa and the reef runway. I keep my blinds closed during the day to not get distracted especially if there’s a south swell. Actually saw someone tow-in off honolulu harbor/sand island during one big summer south.

I make the drive to the top of Haleakala about noon each day. On the way up I am looking at the north shore of Maui with Molokai in the distance or the south shore down to Maalaea, Kaho`olawe and Lanai in the distance. The Big Island comes into view as I drive the last few miles to the observatory.

Once it’s dark we have some of the best night sky views you can ask for. Then about 1:00 a.m. back down the mountain.

What’s the view like from here? Yes I’m at work. Bleedin awful, it’s the only place I’ve ever worked where I’d rather stare at the walls than aimlessly gawp out of the window. Road, shop, civic building, tree 1, pub (crap), mosque, flats, tree 2, car park, tree 3. nowt else, miles from anything worth looking at. But hey, it’s home! Oh and it’s raining again. But I don’t care cos I’ve bought a caravan and I’m off to the coast the weekend.

Jase (MMM)

I have that same view, just about 2 miles further back, and not as high up, and no sand island, and mostly just another part of the building or a roof top and soon it will be the basement. Okay its not as good, but when Im on other floors its better.

nothin but water…being in the middle of the ocean right now on a ship…only open ocean swells no beach around for at least 150 miles…243days until EAOS!!! Do have a cool pic from last port visit to China…Zhanjiang…

a really small picture!!! there is a cow in there…believe me!
