outrigger surf canoe

Help, i’m making a surf outrigger canoe and need any advice on layup techniques. I want to use a foam core in the hull (like Divinycell). It comes in 1/8" 1/4" and 1/4" thicknesses. Which should I use? I need to keep this thing kind of light (~150 lbs). I’ll be laying up with gel-coat and roving/chopped mat. Any comments on what a good hull thickness should be would be wecomed.

Alaska: I have no experience first hand but my neighbor did a Sabot sailboat from a kit one year. I remember the hull being laid up using 1/2" thick foam core material. Looked like a great project. The finished boat was light but had a good solid feel to the sandwiched hull. That being said, the hull you are building is a lot narrower so you may get away with a thinner wall thickness. Tom Sterne P.S. the fabric inlays are going well, thanks for the tips!>>> Help, i’m making a surf outrigger canoe and need any advice on layup > techniques.
