Paddle-out for Chris Dorsey Sunday in HB

About a week ago Chris Dorsey, (about 59), passed away,  a paddle-out is to be held next Sunday at Bolsa Chica State Park around 8 AM. See below for location.

Known as Cristobal at Scorpion Bay, and, "The Dogfather" around OC, He was easy to identify with his dogs, blond/grey afro, and battered 4X4. Chris was widely known for his off-color jokes, stories, and frequent generosity. Survived by his brother John, an El Porto local.

Chris was also an enthusiastic board builder, excelling in airbrush and pin lines.  He is featured in the background of the credits section in, Volcoms,"Creepy fingers", doing a full blank's length single stringer shaving.  He will be missed by many.

The meet will be near the park's South end, at the third restroom from Warner Ave., (the park's boundary).  I don't know witch guard tower.  Free parking at the beach north of Warner (under 1/4 mile), or you need an annual pass, or ten bucks to get into Bolsa.

Details may change, if so I will post any changes.

That’s a huge bummer!  Chris was quite a character to say the least.  He used to come into the shop often.  Hadn’t seen him lately figured he’d just been down in Scorps.  Like Sickdog said he told many a rough and tumble joke with his raspy voice and loud and vivacious laugh.  One of the true classics!  RIP Chris!
