I was just wondering if anyone has made their own?? Living on the lake of mexico gets kinda boring when you work at the beach. If you have made on any info would be helpful, also if you purchased yours than what has been your expriances with them. Thanks.
Just get yourself up to SanDiego, and pick up a used windsurfer anysize from 9’6" and longer.
Then you can paddle it, windsurf it, and use a paddle to paddle it too.
Most today are built with 1# EPS and are laminated with 2 layers of 6 oz bottom and 3 layer 6 oz decks. For the outline I use a 6’8" regular bottom rocker template for a 12’ padder. Use the same template for both ends for a double ender.
Here are some links ive used to research paddleboards…many different approaches, depends on if you want foam or wood.

The eaton website has some foam boards too…same construction as a surfboard, just heavier glass schedules
The tom blake biography also has fold out plans for a paddleboard but good luck finding them unless you want to but the book($75)
This sounds to me like a good idea for wooden hollow paddleboard project.
I’d love to but wouldn’t know where to start… thanks all
Hello DFB- check this website-clcboats.com. They make stitch and glue wooden kayak kits and they also make a modern unlimited paddleboard kit for $599, which includes all materials. I have a friend who is completing one of their kayaks and he says it is not all that hard. A custom epoxy paddleboard would cost upwards of $1500 and are almost non-existant east of the missisipee.
