Hello all, I’ve recently alighted on this incredible forum, and also alighted on the world of shaping (something I’ve always wanted to do.) I was just wondering if anyone out there has the dimensions for a 7foot ish parmenter widowmaker. I want to make one to ride six foot. As much info on bottom, fin placement and size would be amazing. I think Dave just sold his template for the 7’ WM to SurfTech – they will be releasing specs next month in Surfer and Surfing Mags

give peace a chance,such a vocal minority seem to be down on surftech lots of them being ridden in hawaii by many excellent surfers.did you read eric arawakas comments on them,so what does it all mean?wish we all knew many years ago a board called wave hollows were produced similiar to surftech in concept had some if not the best shapers in the world making plugs i remember dick brewer john bradbury there were many others just those two guys are [rest in peace john ]soulful people if surftechs are here to stay they will stand the test of time if not they will fade away in the mean time ride what you will.we all know that just about all the surfspots in the world are over crowded we all wish for simpler times i personally have been surfing for over forty years a rookie compared to some of the guys i surf with teach people proper ettiquette and always try to remember why you started cause it was so much fun and realize that when you can no longer ride the pipe or big rock or peta,that hopefully your still out there and having fun go in peace aloha[oh yeah one other thing you better not drop in on me or paddle behind me cause i wait for my waves and i dont care who made your boards]sound familiar wait for those magical days they do happen aloha… just dont tell anyone…
surftech is selling more boards than anyone else in the world. take that to the bank.
I’m reading a lot about Surftechs and that type of board making big inroads in Hawaii. Anybody care to comment on how many are free to spopnsored surfers? If they don’t cost anything and are readily replaceable, that’s a bit different that people having to pay out of pocket. Skews the cost/durability factor.

The Riddler was kidding, I am certain. Read the archived Parmenter piece about Surftech-type boards, and you will see that Parmenter has morals of steel that will not be bent or compromised. He would never associate his name/designs with a mass produced pop out.
…With a poly board,check the archives for "Spitzer 1 ,Surftech 0.Basically a kook with a shorty tech paddled up under me while I was in the tube and rammed me.TOOK 2 inches instantly of the techs nose and buckled it back from the tip about 18 inches.My board a hole on the inside/rail side of the bottom down by my fins.It was heard that he/this kook intended on doing this to show people how tough his brand new tech was and my boards were weak.I fixed mine in 2 hours without visible signs of a ding.It was back in the water the next day…That tech won’t see water again…My friends say he shows up at my fav break and sees if my truck is in the lot,if my truck is in the lot,he leaves.(Oh yeah,he didn’t know that my boards are coated with the ceramic coating the US Army uses on there tanks to stop rounds from going thru,same stuff as the heat tiles on the space shuttles too,LOL) …I have a friend in the 250lbs class that is on his 4 surftech in 3 years.He snaps one every 6 months or so.He is a valued Serftech Customer,he’ll ride nothing else,because of the float and paddle. …Like I said it’s good they make lots of them because they die quick!Herb

Surfers wanked on for years about wanting strong, light surfboards, surftech’s giving it a go and now surfers wank on about them having no soul, they pop them out and shit. I dont ride them and i probably wouldnt consider it cause im quite happy with my usual foam and glass ride. but i dont begrudge them, at least they are giving it a shot. I know ill be riding the same materials for years to come and the wanking will continue.
