passing the hat - for family of surfer killed by shark

Don’t know if you guys read about the surfer recently killed by a shark around Santa Barbara, but he had two daughters and a wife.  If anyone else at Sway’s wants to toss a few bucks in the hat, I will be happy to collect and forward on any contributions to the family.   I know nothing will help make up for the loss of a parent / spouse, but I’m sure they would appreciate the gesture… and aren’t all of us who spend time in the ocean one big family of a sort anyway?

Post up here or just send me a PM if you care to chip in – any amount is fine, its the thought that counts.

A nice gesture. Geez, I look at my own daughter and can’t imagine the impact of leaving her just yet, or her mom for that matter. Let me know if paypal is fine or if you’d prefer a check. It might take a week or two to get there from here, postal times really seem to vary.

just found this out:  A memorial fund has been set up for Solorio’s children and expenses.
Donations may be sent to the “Francisco Solorio Memorial Fund” at the
Rabobank, 519 East Main Street, Santa Maria, CA 93454

 

So that’s the plan.  I am happy to collect anybody’s contributions (cash check or whatever), or you can send them direct now that we know where.

If anyone sends me a check, make it out to the fund named above.
