Paul Jensen ....

…are you out there somewhere ?

Have you made any new boards since you last posted ?

[it just seems a while since we have heard from you , hope everything is going well …]

cheers

ben

Hey Ben…

Thanks for asking…I am a busy guy…And things are going very well…I have been doing a lot of tile work recently…

My most current board is the 8’7" that I finished last summer…It rides great, and I alternate that board with my Liddle for the less than serious surf…

I’m in the planning phase of doing my twist on a 10’ Simmons Twin Fin “replica”…

Surf / weather wise, all of last month was out of control…All-time record rainfall…Followed by snow and frozen roads…

I did hit the slopes last week for a day of g-force carving…

I also got good surf a few days ago… 6’ @ 13 sec. - With 20kt. offshore winds…!!!..

On a day like that I’m on the 11’6"… I ride it when the conditions call for it…When the beach break goes overhead, with howling offshores, I like the paddling power and momentum it offers, to ride the biggest set waves…

One thing I have been very busy with is converting my new Sprinter van, from an empty steel box to a user friendly work / surf vehicle…Time consuming with all the cabinets - drawers - sink - carpet - stereo - etc…It’s turning out nice…

Finally, I’m going to Ireland next May to teach a “How To Build A Hollow Surfboad” class, so I’m getting things together for that…Mostly in my head at this point…

Again, thanks for asking…

Paul

BTW: Tomorrow looks like a day to hit the cobblestone points up here…!!!..

Paul

Glad to hear your busy and you’ve had some good surf, could you please post some picts of convertion of your new van when its done, I love seeing how different people convert the vechiles for travel/surf.

ditto Paul as I am contemplating a van for my next car!

That’s cool!

What does it take to cause a Paul Jensen hollow surfboard-making class to happen? I’d be willing to pay a share of airfare, hotel, tool shipping, per diem, hookers (just kidding). Is that how the Ireland class happened. or do you have a booking agent/manager or something?

If it’s the former, informal thing, I’ll start a thread and see if there are enough wanna-be HWB builders in the area willing to pay for lessons from the Master, then we can tackle steps like finding a place to hold the class, etc, scheduling (obviously after the holidays), etc.

Very nice van paul.

Great work on the conversion, from the pics if I didn’t know it was in a van I would have sworn it was somebodies house.

Do you ever need to sleep in it? or do you take a tent.

Hi Paul -

I’ve been intrigued by these vehicles myself. I always check out the FedEx trucks and such. I think the horizontal slots, up at shoulder level are for metal I beams that span the width, creating another level for things like boards. Check it out. Great job on your ride!
