Paulownia pink bits?

No this isn’t a dirty thread…

I’m wondering if anybody has any tricks for bringing out the natural colours that you get in paulownia?

It has those pinkish shades, they look great, but just it all just turns a light honey colour when the resin hits it.

Guess what happened to board I got water logged, then dried out and refinished -

The colours came back!

The grain looks great now, pinkish hues, pity it happened is such a backwards way!

So, how do you get those colours to stay there in the first place?

I’ve tried ultra clear resin, and while it helps, it doesn’t show up the shades like the wet board has.

Some kind of pre-treatment other than resin, maybe?
